He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
Matthew 10:41
When we are privilege to sow a seed, into the work or life of God's agent, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers, or as led by the Spirit of God to sow to the poor or certain individuals. We should have the understanding that its a seed, that entitles you to harvest in time of need, that's if God is the one leading you, I am not talking about, being coarsed into giving by some merchant(s); if it's God, you will certainly reap the harvest. God is a rewarder.
I want to share a revelation from the book of 2 Kings 4:8-37., and chapter 8:1-6.
In Shunem, there is this great woman the Bible referred to as the "Shunammite woman", oftentimes she constrained Elisha to stop over their house to eat bread. after some time, she persuaded her husband, and they prepared a guest room for Elisha, so each time Elisha is in town he's always welcome to lodge there, for she perceived that Elisha was a man of God.
Then one day, Elisha called her to ask her, if she needed him to ask the king for favour on her behalf or anything else she meant want, or in any way he can be of assistance to her, because she has been faithful in taking care of him and his steward, she said nothing and that she was alright. Then Gehazi, Elisha's steward noticed that they (she and her husband), had no child and they were advanced in age, as it were. So, Elisha prophesy into her life, in a short while the prophecy came pass and she had a man child. Few years after the child died, and she went to Elisha, with the notion (I didn't ask for a child in the first place, you prophesied and I got a child, now the child cannot be dead while I am still alive, it would've been better if the child never came in the first place.) so, Elisha prayed to God, and God intervene and revive the child.
Now, in chapter 8 of 2 Kings, there was famine in the land and Elisha told the woman to take her family, unto another country to sojourn until the famine will be over, for preservation.
By the time she(Shunammite women) would return, her property had been taken over. So she was going to the king, to lodge her complaints. (Remember, the first thing Elisha had ask her in chapter 4:13 was that, do you want me to speak on your behalf before the king?) I believe, Elisha foresaw this event.
However, at the time of her coming to the king to lodge her complaint, God had supernaturally planted Gehazi there at that exact time, to intermediate for the woman. By the time they were through, 2 Kings 8:6 says,
"And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, RESTORE ALL THAT WAS HERS, AND ALL THE FRUITS OF THE FIELD SINCE THE DAY THAT SHE LEFT THE LAND, EVEN UNTIL NOW."
This is favour! Compare to what she had sown, this is bumper harvest! She got a child, she was preserved throughout the famine by divine direction, and years she didn't even labour for was given her, and her property fully restored to her. All these happened to her, simply for obeying God, when God prompted her to.
Oftentimes, when God ask us to do certain things, it is to our own benefits, as a matter of fact, all the time. It is more like commissioning Him(God) to take over, even when we do not understand the scenario at that point in time, we're sowing a seed that will speak for us in time of need; most time before the need arise the supplies is already waiting.
God is Jehovah Jireh, He is the God of ProVision; He see and provide before hand. If we will obey Him and heed ourselves to His instructions, everything is going to be alright. Hallelujah!!!
Jesus is Lord!
