And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.- Mark 4:17.
Persecution arise against the believer for one main reason, that is, to get the Word of God out of the individual, as soon as it's received, so that the word does not bear root. However, we have the sole responsibility to protect that seed which is the Word of God, because it contain in it, life. That's why the devil is against the Word bearing root.
Matthew 7:24-25 says,
"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."
The rain of life will come against everyone, floods and winds (notice they are plural) will also beat hard against you (you are the house).
The question is, on what are you built? On a rock? Which is the Word of God, or on a sand? Which is some other source.
Will you still be standing after the rain, floods and winds beat hard on you? What determines the answer is the foundation upon which you stand.
I pray that, the grace of God will keep you standing, so as to obtain the price and be victorious till the end, in Jesus name!
Have a fruitful week!
Jesus is the Word!
