Persecution remains the greatest blessing to the church, because it brings about spiritual re-awakening. I saw this in Smith Wigglesworth book, Ever Increasing Faith.
2 Chronicles 7:14,
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Sad but true to say, when believers have everything going for them, we tend to forget God who brings us the peace, abundance, joy etc., we all enjoy, until we are confronted with situations or challenges, then we run to Him. Amazingly, He is such a loving and merciful Father, that despite all our shortcoming, He still embrace us, "if" we run to Him.
Just imagine if we acknowledge Him always, even in our abundant state, what it will be like? Deuteronomy 8:18,
"But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."
Establishment of covenant?!
We may have idea of what He is talking about, but I assure you that we don't even know what that means, it by far surpasses what our eyes have seen, ears heard or our imagination can imagine, if only we will put pride, deception and lust away from us. We will be victorious all the time!
Scripture reading today: Deuteronomy 6:10-12.
Jesus is Lord!
Enahoro Airononi
"persecution is the greatest blessing to a church. When we have persecution we will have purity. If you desire to be filled with the Spirit you can count on one thing, and that is persecution. The Lord came to bring division, and even in your own household you may find three against two. The Lord Jesus came to bring peace; and soon after you get peace within, you get persecution without. If you remain stationary, the devil and his agents will not disturb you much. But when you press on and go the whole length with God the enemy has you as a target. But God will vindicate you in the midst of the whole thing." - Smith Wigglesworth (Ever Increasing Faith)
