But Jesus called them to him , and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
Mark 10:42-44
Across the political sphere and even in ministry; we see this trend. Leaders with the fear of God are committed to serving the people, going the extra mile to achieve results. Those that are otherwise, rules with rigour and exercise authority over the people.
However, it is rather unfortunate to see that vast majority tend to turn towards those that lord it over them with iron fist. This has happened over and over again, and it still happening; you will see this trend, when you actually observe "people and systems", you will get a glimpse of events.
Vast majority of people like being controlled. But God doesn't want that, God speaking through Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:23,
"Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men."
He wants people to willingly make their choices in submission to higher authority, not to be controlled. There is a clear difference between the two. But I feel, people just want to blame others for their shortcomings rather than assume responsibility for their action. The easiest way to accomplish this is to relinquish their right to challenge the statues quo.
We have been called unto liberty, but we shouldn't use our liberty to service our fleshly desires at the expense of doing the right thing, but in reverence toward God at all time regardless of the circumstances.
Jesus is Lord!
