The Needful or Obvious Pt.1




And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
- Luke 10:41-42.

Nobody just happened, we are created for specific purpose. Everybody cannot be head, or leg, or hand etc., each and everyone most identify their place and stay there, thus makeup the body system.
The leg cannot say the hand is not performing its functions adequately, as a result, he will take its functions over. The leg would be led by the obvious and abuse its own purpose instead, why? He was not created to perform the function of the hand.
When these things are properly understood, it will help us to gain speed towards the fulfillment of our purpose.

Everyone will give account of his or her stewardship, when the time comes, what will be your report, when all that you have been doing is the obvious(somebody else's assignment), and ignoring yours or performing less in your own core assignment?

The primary guide in life is the word of God, from scripture, we saw Mary at the Master's feet, drinking into the Word of God, and Jesus said, what Mary was doing shall not be taken from her, why? Simply because she is doing the needful (seeking the wisdom of how to go in life), and for this act, even fear or death cannot take her knowledge of the Word from her, because she knows the truth.

In Acts 20:32, the scripture says, "... brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified."

The Guide

"And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord's anointed is before him." - 1 Sam. 16:6 Looks, words, even principles can be deceptive, but God sees the heart of man and knows the thoughts and intent of the heart. BE WISE.

  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:17 God, at different times and in so many ways have tried and still trying to let us know what His will for us is (He never gives up on us) . Same way the devil is endeavouring to distract us from God's purpose for our life through various medium. There is a saying, when purpose of a thing is not known, the abuse of the thing is certain. Using a toddler for an example. He/she have no clue what a remote control to a television is, if they found one. They can drop it a bowl of water if available, and still feels happy about it; simply because they have no idea what it is meant for. But as they grow up their perspective change. Same way, God want us to grow to understand our purpose and His plans for our lives.
