What's Your Focus?

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. - Matthew 14:28 When God gives us a task, it requires supernatural strength to fulfill it. From the above scripture we saw Peter responding to a call. Jesus expected Peter to focus on the given task and not the circumstances nor the surrounding. We need to understand this, there are many voices in the world and they have their signification, they come in different form, mostly to distract us from our given task and purpose; some are very appealing and some very distractive. We must learn to heed and recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit, and follows his instructions, 1 Corinthians 14:10. Who we pay attention to matter, as it determines our focus, spiritually first and then physically second, 'if' we must achieve our purpose, or sink with it. What are you focusing on, Above or beneath? On God or politics and situations? Our choices determines our victory or defeat. May Go...

Constant Flow

... ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. - Philippians 4:16-17 I will use 1 Kings seventeenth chapter to illustrate the above scripture. From verse 8, God said to Elijah, saying, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. Elijah probably had a thought, that maybe she is a wealthy person in that city. But, No! She was in a desperate situation with her son, that if nothing miraculous happens same day, it would probably be their end. So, God sent a prophet in need, as it were, to sustain a widow that is in need as well? This does not sound right the hearing of many or any, yet, God's ways is past finding out. Now, Elijah have to work in obedience to receive from the widow, and the widow have to work in faith and obedience to give from the very very little she has. Despirate situation ehm! What about "if" Elijah had refuse to receiv...

Fruitful giving

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. - Deuteronomy 8:3. Everything start and end with words. our words should be set to accomplish something at every point. Our givings, offering or gifts, it shouldn't be some sort of religious activity, but with cautiousness and sense of commitment that we are doing it as unto the Lord God and not unto man. Even though men will receive it from us here. I believe all our giving should be done as an act of obedience and more so, acknowledging Him as the ultimate source, that we are in a privileged position to be on the giving side, as an act of grace and not by our works. If need be we should take time to write the words to speak or proclaim to the offering carefully before offering it or them, Deuteronom...

Strengthen Yourself in Him

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. - 1 Samuel 30:6 Everyone in the camp was aggrieved for their lost. I don't think they were in greater distressed than David anyway. Prior to this David was anointed to be the next King of Israel. Then, not long after he killed Goliath, the women of Israel sang a song, that put him on the run, because King Saul wants him dead at all cost. As at this time King Saul was still after David; so he ran and took shelter in the camp of the enemy. Taking shelter in the camp of an enemy with family, relatives and friends with him, must have put him in a very compromising position. David must have been wary before now, because it seems the anointing upon him has further complicated his life, not knowing what could happen next moment. Now, his and his young men family and...

God’s Goodness

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. - Proverbs 13:12 Waiting is the most difficult job to do on the planet earth. But when it time for manifestation, the joy is overwhelming, it's life and like a flowing stream that cannot be stop... Words fail to describe the feeling and its fulfillment. It's a new month, expect God's goodness. Because He is a good God. Happy New Month to you! You shall have reasons to celebrate this month, in Jesus name! Enahoro Airononi
