Be STRONG

 



And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

1 Samuel 30:6


In life, going through the furnace of affliction will get you to the place of great distress. But like David, encourage yourself in God's Word that cannot fail and stand strong.


David was a man called and anointed to be the king of Israel at the age of 16 (sixteen); but now almost 30 years he have not yet ascended the throne; on the contrary, he has been under perpetual attacks and afflictions, to the point that he had to take refuge in the enemy's territory. 

And now, they have gone to find food for their family (he and his men), only to return to deserted and burnt abode, and their families taken captive.


The Bible says, in verse 4 of same chapter,

"Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep."



You may have gotten to that place despair, where you don't know what else to do, don't run from Him [God] rather to Him.  No matter what happen keep your eyes on Him. That was what King David did, he encouraged himself and seek to hear from God the next step and action.


You see, this was the last stroke, because right after this event, he ascended the throne. Imagine what would have happened had he quit, the tendencies must have been there.


"But he that shall endure unto the end (not mid way), the same shall be saved." Matthew 24:13


I pray for grace to stand strong till the end for someone reading this today, you will not fail, and you shall not faint in God's purpose for you, in Jesus mighty name! God bless you!

BE WISE.

  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:17 God, at different times and in so many ways have tried and still trying to let us know what His will for us is (He never gives up on us) . Same way the devil is endeavouring to distract us from God's purpose for our life through various medium. There is a saying, when purpose of a thing is not known, the abuse of the thing is certain. Using a toddler for an example. He/she have no clue what a remote control to a television is, if they found one. They can drop it a bowl of water if available, and still feels happy about it; simply because they have no idea what it is meant for. But as they grow up their perspective change. Same way, God want us to grow to understand our purpose and His plans for our lives. PROSPER

 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2. The mind consist of one's will, intellect and emotions; which is the soul of man. At salvation the spirit of man; which is also referred to as the heart gets quickened or made alive (But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible,... ) 1 Peter 3:4  The heart is saved, the soul is not. You [we] have a duty to save our soul; and it has to be done through studying the word and meditating upon the word, that's when the transformation of mind/soul begins. Romans 12:2  "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your MIND, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." As you spend more time in the Word of God; like a mirror you beginning to see your true identity from it. This is the reason we are admonished to study the Word of God.
