Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
John 20:29
In Luke chapter 4, after that Jesus had fasted 40 days and night and had been tempted by the devil. He went into the synagogue to read scriptures, there He found where it was written about Him, His purpose; after which He began teaching all that were present, and they were all astonished at the wisdom that proceeded from Him. But then they questioned His capacity, His personality and His origin, in verse 22;
"... And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?"
You see, they delve back into the natural. And Jesus said in Luke 4:23,
"And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country."
People believe more in the natural, because that's how the world has trained everyone to reason. "seeing is believing" but it's the other way round spiritually, "believing is seeing" you believe to receive, Mark 11:24.
The people in question wanted to see the acts of God more convincingly before they can believe. The truth is you can never get enough to convince you to believe. You actually do it by faith.
A time is coming, the things you scoff today would be out of reach tomorrow, when you're in desperate need of them, if precautions aren't taken today.
"And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it." Luke 17:22
Jesus is Lord!
