SAME TRICKS

But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. Revelation 2:14 One of the greatest agenda of the enemy against a right standing believer, is to try to lure them away from their arena of protection and provision so he can afflict them. But as long as they'd ( believer ) remain faithful to the things of God, the enemy knows they're out of his reach.  Matthew 13:25 says,  "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way."  This is how it works, Balaam knew that the Israelite couldn't be cursed in their righteous state, but because his eyes was fixed on the reward promised him by Balac. He taught Balac ways to go around it.  He told Balac that the only way he could overpower the Israelite is if God withdraw from their midst. And for that h...

STEPS TO VICTORIOUS LIVING

Most times God allows us to go through certain trials and temptations of life to help us discover our true identity or call it purpose, with patience. Looking for shortcuts to avoid the process may be very costly. James 1:2-4,12 says,  My brethren, count it all joy WHEN (not if) ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.[12] Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Study the life of Moses, the period he ran from Egypt and before he went back to Egypt for the rescue of the Israelites. Jacob, between the time he left home and when he returned. Joseph, between when he was separated from his family and reunion. Jesus, between the age 12 (twelve) and 30(thirty). David, between the period he was anointed through the time he e...

DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS

And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever. 1 Samuel 28:2 Most times we focus on the promotion of men that we loose focus of God's original plan and purpose for our life [promotion that comes from God]. As a result settle for existence, instead of reigning and ruling in life. In  1 Samuel 29:7  the scripture says,  "Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines." In our quest to gain favour and promotion we compromise; God doesn't want that. David wanted to help Achish to fight to prove his loyalty, what would've happened had he gone is another thing. Things could've turned either way; he was in a fix, so God stepped in. David is ordained to be a king, not a chief of staff to someone else. But frustration and pressure could've made him loose focus, thereby bend the knees. As a result a glorious de...

AVOID OFFENSE

John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Luke 3:16 These were words John the Baptist used to describe the personality of Jesus. Yet, when pressure came he was dissatisfied with Jesus's actions for not running to His aid. In Luke 7:19 the scripture says,  "And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?" From the tune you know he was discontented with the situation he'd found himself, and was desperate to get out. But the way and manner is another altogether. What was Jesus response? See Luke 7:23,  "And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me." The question is, how did John the Baptist got entangled in this mess? Did God send him? No. He interfered in Herod's affairs, but God didn't send h...
