If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.
Ecclesiastes 10:10.
The more we conform to earthly things, the more we loose touch with divinity. Then we blunt that needs sharpening.
Things may not seem to be working, after trying all avenue. But, have you tried wisdom? The above text says, "wisdom is profitable to direct" that means it can direct our steps into the right path of life.
How do we get this wisdom? James 1:5,
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
It means, God is the giver of wisdom, and he gives whomever ask of him. Have you ask him?
God gives us wisdom through his Word. Example, He said, in Matthew 6:33,
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Unfortunately, people want it the other way around by making the first last, and the last, first.
The Bible says in Proverbs 23:4,
"Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom."
His wisdom is, kingdom first, then things will be additions, but we seek our own wisdom by putting things first. Then we keep asking the question, how did things got this bad? Or why are things not working?
Proverbs 4:7 says,
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
There are three basic requirements to succeed in life, of which wisdom is the primary, the rest are; understanding and knowledge. But, man turn this backward again. By making knowledge first, understanding second, and in most cases there is no room for wisdom. They assume once you have knowledge and understanding, it's equally wisdom. No! Each have their place.
Proverbs 24:3-4 differentiate their offices/functions,
"Through WISDOM is an house builded; and by UNDERSTANDING it is established: And by KNOWLEDGE shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches." this is clear in it context, if you meditate on it, you will get the clearer picture.
If the Holy Bible says, Wisdom is the primary requirement, IT IS!
Doing anything outside of it, will bring frustration.
Moreover, "... unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST the POWER OF GOD, and the WISDOM OF GOD." 1 Corinthians 1:24. Wisdom speaking in Proverbs 8:18 says, "By me kings reign, and prince's decree justice."
Have a wisdom-full week!
Jesus is Lord!
