And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
- Numbers 11:31.
Talk about a day's journey, imagine trekking all day and all night to cover the right side, same on the left side and it's 2cubit high from the ground and round about the camp.
The next verse talked about how the children of Israel spend days both day and night gathering the quails; and the lest gathered ten hommers and spread them about the camp.
When you talked sudden change or sudden abundance... here is example one.
Another, 2 Kings 7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
2 Kings 7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
Now Elisha was saying food will be sold so cheap even at the gate of Samaria by the reason of it's abundance the following day.
Here is a minister in charge of food supply and distribution "I presume" by his reasoning and his academic exposure, mocked both God and the prophet by saying "even if the LORD make windows in heaven" it is not possible.
Meaning the situation is not possible for God to change overnight.
But he received a curse instead, because he questioned God's ability. He heard about the abundance the following day, he even saw the food, but didn't taste from it. verse 20 And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.
The thing about this man and many other believers today is; though they have heard testimonies of God's mighty works over and again(manner in the wilderness), they still won't believe God ability to perform His Word and supply abundantly, even today.
Today, God is telling us that He's able to do abundantly, above all we could ever ask or think. All we need do, is ask and have faith in Him to make good His promise towards us. Mark 11:24.
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1Pet.5:7
He cares for you, more than we care for ourselves.
