He Really Does Care for You

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you
– 1 Peter 5:7

Do you know what it’s like to face a problem so big it seems downright irresponsible not to worry about it? There may not be a thing you can do about it, but you feel like you need to at least be concerned. After all, someone needs to! And no one else seems to be volunteering for the job.

I remember one time in particular I felt exactly that way. I was holding a series of meetings in Ruston, Louisiana. I had just discovered our budget was $900 short—and in those days, $900 might as well have been $9 million! The devil was
attacking my mind, telling me that no one cared about me or my ministry, telling me that I was facing this problem alone.

But instead of giving in to those thoughts, I got my Bible and turned to every scripture in the Word of God that guaranteed me my needs were met. Then I rolled the care of those expenses over on God. I promised God that with the Holy Spirit as my helper, I would not touch that problem with my thought life again.

That wasn’t an easy promise to keep. I wanted to worry so badly! I went into the courtyard of the motel where I was staying and walked around the swimming pool. Every time I thought about the problem, I would say out loud, “No, I have rolled the care of that over on the Lord. I will not think about it. The budget is met.”

After a while, a man drove up in the driveway and began to honk his horn. I tried to ignore him because I don’t like to be interrupted when I’m praying, but he stuck his head out of the window and shouted, “Come here!” He said it with such authority that I obeyed.

He said to me, “Brother Copeland, I’m sorry to disturb you, but I’m committed to another obligation and will be late for the meeting tonight. I was afraid I would miss the offering.” Then he handed me a
check. When I went back to my room and looked at that check, I found it was for $500. Coupled with the offering in the service that night, it totaled the exact amount I needed to meet that budget.

Would you like to have people chasing you down to meet your needs? Then next time you’re facing a problem, give it to God. Let Him be the One who’s concerned about it.
He’s volunteered for the job and you can trust Him to do it well. After all, He really does care for you.

SETTLED SOUL

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2 The state of one's mind [ soul ] determines his/her place in destiny. In life people are forced to bow to pair pressure or any other kind of pressure when they don't have a stable mind, or let's say the person have identity issue.  When Satan tempted Christ Jesus on His way from the wilderness after forty days prayer and fasting, what was the first question he asked Him? "if thou be the Son of God" if Jesus had had identity issue, he would have fallen for temptation in the view to show off, as a result lost His place and purpose. Knowing fully well that God had said, "... Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." Lk. 3:22. Before embarking on the wilderness expenditure.  When you know who you are in the Word of God and are established in it; you wouldn't bow to the pressure of the world, because you see things differently....

BE RESOLUTE

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. John 6:38 If you need to, you may; examine yourself and see, can the above statement be true of you or about you? Because in life you will face obstacles and challenges that will press and push you to extreme limit or out of measure to a breaking point [in despair of life, according to Apostle Paul]. These things happens in other to make you change course; but stand thou resolute.  Jesus said, persecutions will arise for the Word sake.  In Matthew 26:39, Jesus was praying "... O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." While on the cross, Jesus cried out, "... My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"  Well..., the Father didn't go anywhere, but the heat of the situation(s) make it look that way.  Enroute the promise land, there are a lot of obstacles; there is nothing easy about it. Sure the Devil makes it d...

Extremely Blessed!

A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth. – Proverbs 17:8 If I could give you a gift this Christmas, the Word is what I'd give you. I'd rather give it to you than a check for a million dollars. Because you can run through a million dollars real quick, but the truth of God's Word never quits—and it will get you out of situations a million dollars can't get you out of. Ken and I are just ordinary people. But when we latched on to God's Word, we latched on to something out of the ordinary, something that changed our lives. Every area of our lives. Nothing that's happened to us has happened because of us. It's happened because of God's Word. In fact, I don't even have to know you to promise you this: If you'll give God's Word your full attention—and not be afraid of His will for your life—you're going to be happier and more prosperous than anything you could ever dream up. O...
